Tanzanian weddings!

One of our friends recently got married and invited us to the wedding. A lot of dancing takes place as everyone goes up to congratulate the couple or give a speech, dances their way up to the platform.

When there is dancing and music, everyone joins in and they are all given white handkerchiefs to wave. We also danced our way up to the platform while presenting our gift. It was a lot of fun!

Traditionally they have two weddings, one for the girl, which is called a "send off", where her parents give her to a new family. The other wedding is for the man and all of his family, though most people don't go to both the "send off" and the wedding reception.

So if you ever want to have a double wedding, this is the place to come!

Looks like fun. I've been to weddings around the world and love each one.

May God continue to bless you and your work in Africa
